There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to dementia care or caring for a loved one. It's hard enough being next door, but many of us live far from our loved ones and struggle to care for them. Whether you're in another city or another country, the service plans I offer can be tailored to meet your unique needs and circumstances. Through personalised consultations, we will work together to develop strategies that specifically address your situation, ensuring you receive the support and guidance necessary to care for your loved one(s) effectively.
My expertise comes from caring for my Mama, who lives in the UK, whilst I traveled for work. All services are based on my personal experience. I have also researched various "what if" scenarios to be better prepared for the unexpected.
As anyone who cares for a loved one with dementia knows—there are no constants, only inconsistencies.
Each of the services below will guide you to a questionnaire form. This will help me get to know you better. Once filled in, the care plans can be more precisely tailored to your needs. I look at all available options and share what I, as well as others I’ve helped, have found useful.
A consultation is designed to address the details specific to your situation and determine the best options for you.
This is a difficult journey, and I understand how challenging and emotional it can be to care for a loved one. We are all doing an incredible job, and it's okay to ask for help when you need it. I'm here to help!
IMPORTANT: The forms you fill out do not request any personal information that could put your privacy or security at risk. Only non-sensitive details are collected. Once we’ve established that I can create a personalised care plan or offer a one-on-one consultation, I will send you an invoice for payment. Please feel free to contact me using the information above if you have any questions.
PERSONAL CARE CONSULTING ADVICE
This one-on-one consulting approach is designed to address your specific caregiving needs and help you achieve both short-term and long-term goals. If you are in the next room, next city or several countries away I will happily consult with you to determine how to meet your needs.
A consultation aims to tailor all the details specifically to your needs and identify the best options for managing your caregiving situation in a way that works best for you.
One on One consulting is so I can get to know you and to discuss your unique situation, explore what you have already tried, and identify how we can make the caregiving process easier for you.
The goal is to help you and your PWD (person with dementia) and keep them safe and as independent as you can whilst they are at home. Improve your wellbeing, health and quality of living - for both of you. These care plans involve a variety of technologies, ranging from simple, inexpensive gadgets to sophisticated tools that promote independent living.
We start with a form for you to fill out, which helps me understand your situation and what we are dealing with. Once completed, we can move forward with the next steps which is providing information, explanations,
and an understanding of the options available.
During our consultation, we will discuss:
-
Your specific needs and challenges.
-
What you have tried and why it did/didn't work
-
Resources that are available
-
How to navigate through the journey that will keep changing
-
Compassionate caring and how to do so from afar
-
What boxes have to be ticked when it comes to being the main caregiver for the PWD
-
Preparing for the future, for you and your loved one.
Cost: $295 an hour (USA) / £223 an hour (UK)
To create a care plan tailored to your needs, please fill out the form and answer the questions thoroughly.
Share your goals and what you hope to achieve in caring for your loved one.
Based on your responses, I will develop a tailored care plan that addresses your specific situation.
It's important to mention what you have already tried so I can avoid duplicating efforts.
In my experience, caring from afar has been successful due to the use of technology. I did not have help from family members or friends, as they were uncomfortable with technology and unable to assist. Therefore, it is crucial to have at least one person who can update software, make adjustments, and sync cameras.
This is easier than you might think, and I will provide suggestions on how to set up a step-by-step guide for the person you choose to help with the technology when you are not there.
This plan will encompass:
-
An approach to addressing your loved one's needs, preferences, and any specific challenges they may face.
-
Ensure that the care plan not only meets but exceeds your expectations, providing comfort, support, and peace of mind for both you and your loved one.
-
Incorporating your preferences and priorities into every aspect of the care plan.
If you feel that more help is needed then the one-on-one consulting (above) will work better for you.
